7 DIY sheet masks for your skin type

So, sheet masks: the latest trend in the skincare world. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, but they are hard to come by whenever I head to the pharmacy. So, I decided to make my own. Here's a few recipes that you can try at home.

You will need: cotton rounds, or squares that you can separate into halves/quarters so they are thinner. Soak them in the the concotions listed below. For ten minutes or overnight. Your choice.

For Dry Skin

Grate a potato and squeeze juice from flesh. Add mashed cucumber (optional). Soak cotton rounds. Apply to cleansed skin for 10-15 minutes or until dry.
Note: Potatoes contain hyaluronic acid. See why HA is the bomb for dry skin HERE.

For Dry, Dull skin

1 tsp avocado oil + 2 tbs brewed, cooled green tea + 2 tbs brewed, cooled licorice root tea

1 tsp olive oil + 2 tbs brewed, cooled green tea + 0.5 tsps of turmeric

For sensitive, red, irritated skin

2 tbs brewed, cooled chamomile tea + cucumber juice

2 tbs brewed, cooled chamomile tea + 2 tbs aloe vera

For Acne

2 tbs brewed, cooled chamomile tea + cucumber juice + 1 drop of tea tree oil

If you have oily skin with inflamed acne, you can benefit from trying the sheet masks aimed for sensitive, irritated skin (above) while adding 1 drop of tea tree oil.
Note: See why and how tea tree oil is great for acne HERE. For example:

For oily skin
I think sheet masks are better for hydrating, calming down redness, and soothing skin rather than for reducing oil. Clay based-masks are better for oily skin. But green tea is pretty good for anything and everything.

Other ingredients to use
  • rose water: hydrating, calming
  • avocado oil: moisturising, filled with vitamins and essential fats
  • vitamin C: brightening, protective
  • vitamin e capsules

Let me know if you try one of these out in the comments below and what are your go to home-made masks?
